December 29, 2023

Butler County, Ohio – December 27, 2023

The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) and the City of Middletown are proud to announce the inauguration of a new commuter service, CincyLink, beginning January 2, 2024. This transformative initiative underscores the BCRTA’s commitment to elevating the commuting experience for residents of Butler County and Cincinnati.

CincyLink will replace the current 42X commuter service operated by Cincinnati Metro. In collaboration with the City of Middletown, the BCRTA has successfully transitioned the commuter service under its direct operation, broadening service stops and improving connectivity for residents of Butler County and Cincinnati.

CincyLink key features include four peak morning and four peak afternoon roundtrips. Expanded stops include the Meijer in Middletown, Uptown Cincinnati, and the Riverfront Transit Center.  The new commuter coaches feature free Wi-Fi with charging stations at every seat, cashless payments with the EZfare app, affordable fares with single rides priced at $5.00 each way and $120.00 for an unlimited monthly pass, and free rides throughout the month of January.

“In launching CincyLink, we are not only reshaping commuter services but also offering a seamless and affordable transportation solution for our community. By providing a free month of service, we aim to welcome both familiar faces and new riders on board. CincyLink is a testament to our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our residents,” remarked Shawn Cowan, Director of Customer Care and Public Engagement for BCRTA.
