BCRTA Celebrates Ohio Loves Transit Week: Public Transit Drives Workforce Development

February 10, 2026

Hamilton, Ohio — February 2026 — The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is proud to join transit systems across the state in celebrating Ohio Loves Transit Week, February 16–20, 2026. This statewide initiative highlights the essential role public transportation plays in connecting people to jobs, education, healthcare, and opportunities.

This year’s campaign focuses on workforce development, emphasizing how public transit drives economic growth in communities across Ohio. For many residents, reliable transportation is the first step toward meaningful employment.

In 2025 alone, BCRTA provided nearly 40,000 on-demand rides specifically for work and job training purposes. The agency’s CincyLink Commuter Service also experienced a 10% increase in ridership as more employees returned to the office.

To further support local job seekers, BCRTA offers a Jobs Map — an interactive tool showing thousands of employment opportunities located along public transit routes. Currently, more than 21,000 businesses are accessible via BCRTA’s regional network.

BCRTA also partners directly with employers to address workforce transportation challenges through its Business Toolkit, which includes posters, table tents, and rack cards designed to help connect employees with transit resources.

According to the American Public Transportation Association, every $1 invested in public transit generates $5 in economic return, strengthening local economies and supporting community growth.

“Transit drives opportunity,” said Matthew Dutkevicz, Executive Director of BCRTA. “Ohio Loves Transit reminds us that when we invest in transit, we invest in people and the local economy.”

During Ohio Loves Transit Week, BCRTA representatives will travel to Columbus to meet with state leaders and share how investments in public transportation continue to drive Butler County’s economy forward.
