FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH — On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) held its first annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive at Walmart on Princeton Road in Fairfield Township. The event was a tremendous success, collecting 1,253 pounds of food—the equivalent to 1,044 meals—for Shared Harvest Foodbank and families in need across Butler County.

Partnering with Shared Harvest, BCRTA staff greeted Walmart shoppers with holiday cheer, handing out candy canes, BCRTA swag items, and even offering tours of one of BCRTA’s iconic trolleys. Shoppers were encouraged to “stuff the bus” with nonperishable food donations from a list provided by Shared Harvest.

“Our community really showed up,” said Katie McKnight, BCRTA Mobility Management Specialist, BCRTA. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, braved the cold, and helped us make a difference this holiday season. Special thanks go out to Wal-Mart Manager, Mylian Hodges, and his incredible team for their partnership, communication, and support during retail’s busiest time of year.”

One generous donor even packed their car full of groceries and made a special trip just to contribute to the cause — a reflection of the kindness and giving spirit throughout Butler County.

“We’re so appreciative of our partnership with Butler County RTA and their efforts in hosting the first-ever Stuff-A-Bus event” said Allie Godfrey, Director of Development, Shared Harvest Foodbank, “Because hunger doesn’t take a holiday break, support at the end of the year is essential to ensure that no one in Butler County goes without food this season, thank you to everyone who participated — your donations will make a real impact for families across our community!”

BCRTA hopes to make Stuff-A-Bus an annual tradition and is seeking community partners to help expand the program in the future. Organizations interested in collaborating are encouraged to complete a partnership request form on the BCRTA website at www.ButlerCountyRTA.com.
