BCRTA Receives ODOT Funding to Replace Aging Equipment and Strengthen Service Reliability
February 27, 2026
Hamilton, OH – February 27 – The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is pleased to announce it has received funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to purchase four new replacement vehicles and replace aging equipment. This award is part of the Ohio Transportation Partnership Program and will help strengthen the reliability and safety of BCRTA services.
Like many transit agencies, BCRTA has faced challenges with an aging fleet due to supply chain shortages that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. These new grants will reduce maintenance costs, improve service reliability, and enhance the overall experience for riders.
“BCRTA is grateful to the Ohio Department of Transportation for this critical investment in our fleet,” said Luke Morgan, Director of Operations. “As our vehicles continue to age, maintenance costs have increased significantly, placing added strain on our operating budget and affecting service reliability. ODOT’s support allows us to modernize our fleet while ensuring we can continue providing safe, dependable transportation to the communities we serve.”
In addition to vehicle replacement funds, BCRTA has also received capital for bus technology upgrades and a new generator, supporting continued improvements to operational efficiency and customer service.
