BCRTA to Honor Memory of Mrs. Anita Scott Jones April 21, 2021

April 14, 2021

BCRTA staff and trustees were saddened to learn of the death of fellow BCRTA Trustee, Anita Scott Jones, on April 10, 2021. Mrs. Jones was a well-loved and strong proponent for BCRTA. She was also the longest currently serving board member, having joined the BCRTA Board in August 2009. During her tenure, Anita was a thoughtful contributor and fierce supporter for passengers. Mrs. Jones was instrumental in brokering relations with the City of Middletown that grew into a successful and long-term partnership. Anita also helped introduce the “Atrium Circulator” and later advocated passionately for transit riders visiting Atrium Medical Center and Primary Health Solutions.

Mrs. Jones’s absence at the BCRTA Board of Trustees will be missed and a great void to fill. The thoughts and prayers of the BCRTA Board of Trustees and staff are with Anita’s family and her husband, Lyndon.

BCRTA will honor the memory and contributions of Anita Scott Jones at their regular April board meeting on April 21, 2021 at 8:00 AM with a moment of silence. Visitors are also welcome to share any remembrances during the public comment portion of the meeting in accordance with BCRTA guidelines. Meeting information is available on the BCRTA Public Meeting Webpage.
